Handturned Pens & Leathercraft

Little Moreton Hall

The wood I use for these pens is Medlar fruit wood from the gardens of Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire, England.

The stunning Tudor manor house was built by the Moreton family in the 15th century. By the 16th century the estate was at its greatest with 1,360 acres of land.

Medlar, a popular fruit since the Roman times, was one of the many fruit trees the Moreton

family grew in their orchard. The fruit is harvested in winter, much later than our more popular fruit trees.

The Little Moreton pen is available in five pen styles (see examples below).

Pens are supplied with a soft velvet drawstring pouch, history information sheet plus a signed certificate to accompany the pen.
